AquaKor™ Technology transforms the entire gypsum sheathing into a water-resistive and air barrier (WRB-AB). Our proprietary, one-of-a-kind technology reduces the number of steps required to meet the performance requirements of your exterior wall system. Here's what you need to know:

  1. The water-resistive and air barrier (WRB-AB) is infused into the system instead of being applied over traditional sheathing.

    DensElement® Barrier System with AquaKor™ Technology integrates WRB-AB attributes directly into its core. This eliminates the need for building wraps, peel-and-stick membranes or fluid-applied membranes to meet the performance requirements of your exterior wall system.

    AquaKor™ Technology transforms the entire gypsum sheathing into a WRB-AB by integrating the fiberglass mat and gypsum core to form a monolithic, hydrophobic surface that blocks bulk water but allows vapor to pass through.

  2. The integrated system eliminates a step, reducing the threat of installation errors.

    Traditional WRB-AB systems applied over the sheathing can be improperly installed. The additional step can lead to problems such as rips in the building wrap or fluid-applied membranes that are too thin, which can affect the performance of the building envelope.
